The first few months since Wood/Grey's launch have been so wonderful, with lots of unexpected ups and downs...  I'm sure that's all the norm when you have your own business and you often find yourself 'winging it' when it comes to something you haven't tried before.

The feedback from our lovely customers and followers has been so good, it's amazing to know that my vision of Wood/Grey is something that people enjoy. There have been many days where I've sat at my desk, quietly panicking for some reason or other, and then something awesome happens and reassures me that things are moving in the right direction.  We've been lucky enough to be find ourselves featured on a few amazing blogs and instagram feeds.

I've been a long time fan of Alex Stedman's wonderful blog The Frugality, so it was a real 'pinch me' moment to be mentioned in her post '3 interiors brands on my refurb radar'.  To be up there in such good company on this super stylish blog was definitely one of those moments that I'll remember when looking back at launching Wood/Grey.

Wood/Grey was also featured by the lovely Anneli Bush ( in her April Monthly Favourites post.  Such beautiful images and writing about some of my favourite products.  Anneli creates gorgeous lifestyle photographs and I'm definitely taking a lot of healthy living inspiration from her blog.  Another one of those moments!

I also had the real pleasure of meeting Cherry Collins, Creative Director and Lucy Mulliner, Fashion Editor from Grabble.  Grabble app is a curated daily edit of the best of fashion, lifestyle and beauty products edited by an ultra cool team of stylists, ready to buy in just one tap.  I was so happy to find that Grabble were featuring Wood/Grey products in their edits and was thrilled to be asked to be interviewed for their Living the Stylish Life series (link here 'Grabble meets Wood/Grey').

I've been overwhelmed by just how lovely and supportive so many people have been.  I'm also struck by how incredibly inspiring and helpful it is to have a creative community on Instagram.  Before I launched Wood/Grey, I was always a little intimidated by social media but I must admit that I am now a bit of an insta-addict....

Something that I certainly need to work on is switching off from the business more.  I know that I am definitely not alone in feeling too tied emotionally to work... in one way, it helps give us drive and to get things done but on the other hand, it can very easily sneak it's way in to other parts of your life.  So I'm taking inspiration from lots of others of late and I'm going to make an effort to switch off from social media and emails in the evenings.  We'll see how that goes...

So here's to the next few months!  I'm sure there'll be plenty of things that will happen that I haven't planned for, but as long as the ups balance the downs, I'll be happy!  I have so much genuine excitement about what is ahead for Wood/Grey.  Lots of shiny new products coming very soon....
